So I threw my Pixel King units in the trash shortly after these arrived. I have absolutely NOTHING BAD to say about these units. I have used them relentlessly for tens of thousands of clicks and have had zero failures or misfires. The added benefit of being able to have a flash on top of the camera trigger is an added benefit. the fact that the triggers speak HSS insures that I can use them outdoors for sporting events, and can even trick a standard studio strobe into operating in HSS mode. I can't say enough good things about these triggers. FOR CERTAIN - if you are considering Pixel Kings, STOP HERE. Buy the Yongnuo's and you will never regret it.

The short review is I love these and they are great for the money. The battery life seems pretty good, but be aware that the buttons on these units are very sensitive. It's very easy to change the channels on these just through handling them. I keep them in a Royal Crown bag hanging on the light stand, you can't see the lights through the bag. I've unknowingly changed the channels and went nuts trying to figure out what my problem was because I didn't realize that I hit the buttons while placing the unit in the bag. Just a heads up.

I started with Yong Nuo RF-602 manual triggers but decided to upgrade to these TTL triggers. So far, they have been working flawlessly. I've had success using these on a Canon 7D, 6D, and EOS M. High speed sync (HSS) has worked on all of these bodies. On the EOS M, there is no built in menu on which you can set the power ratio between flash groups, but you can set the overall flash exposure compensation, curtain and HSS settings. I've used these triggers with the original 580EX, the 270EX II, and the 430EX II. I've found all of them to be compatible. The exposure levels have been very accurate. Occasionally, a flash does not fire, but I believe its because the flash does not recycle fast enough rather than a problem with the yn-622c.

Super great product!!! I have bought previous generation of Yongnuo flash trigger before. They were good for the price, but limited in features and ok reliability. Bought the YN622 recently and have used it in several photoshoot. It worked flawlessly with my 5D3 ETTL and very reliable. It's compact and very easy to use. The YN622 seems to be a real game changer!!! Its value is way beyond its low low cost. I was looking at Pocketwizard triggers before I found this, and now I am definitely going to keep these Youngnuo triggers and save a lot of money :)

Work great with 580 EXII's and a 5D Mk II. Mainly use for high speed sync work but they are great triggers in general. I was able to shoot a couple of studio boxes with strobes on high speed sync by using the mini jack on these and I can't believe I was able to high speed sync those lights. The build quality is quite nice for something this price range. The plastic and finish used seems like these will last for a while. Been using them for commercial work on a regular basis and they're still in perfect condition. Definitely buying a couple of more soon.

I bought these after having a set of Phottix Stratos II flash triggers. While those are good triggers they, like most others do not support HSS. I found that I wanted one that would work wirelessly and do HSS, this one has some other great features above and beyond what I was looking for. These do everything and are as good as the Phottix Odin units that I tried out with one exception, they dont have their own LCD panel on the back like the Odin transmitter/controller does. I can live without that since these are much cheaper and have the option to also add a flash to the top of the unit on camera if desired. These feel solid, attach firmly, and do everything that I would expect them to do. Overall I would say great little units.

These transceivers are pretty amazing. They work as advertised and are fun to use. I don't use much flash photography, but when I do, they provide me with the ability to quickly set up and place my light sources exactly where I need them. For fun party pics in low lit rooms, instead of using on camera flash I can even place/hide the flashes in the corners of rooms to gain just enough lighting to capture the actual mood and look of the setting and the people, etc.

These are fantastic wireless controls. I was able to put the batteries in and remotely trigger the flashes right away. The triggers were immediately recognized by both my Canon 5D Mark ii and t3i. While I see one reviewer had issues triggering these remotes from a distance, I am not usually that far from subjects, so I don't think that will be an issue for me. Just for fun, I stood at one end of the house with my camera and a flash unit at the other, approx. 40 ft, and it flashed no problem. For someone who is just starting out or a cost-conscious professional, these are perfectly fine units. Couple these with a simple, slip-on flash diffuser and you should be good to go with most any off-camera shot you want to take. It is fair to say that on these particular units, through reverse engineering or whatever, they have cracked the code and work well with Canon cameras, at least the 5D ii and t3i.

This is 3rd time I'm buying these triggers. First I bought 2 pairs. Loved them! Bought 2 more pairs few months ago, and now bought 1 more pair. They all work! All the time! As a charm! Without any hiccups or misfires! Equally well with every of various strobes I accumulated over the ears (Canon's 420, 430, 580, 580-II, 600, Sigma, Vivitar, Yongnuo 568-II, and Neewer 680) Great design and build. Looks (and in practice IS!) very durable. I find them as reliable as Pocket Wizards for a fraction of wizards price. They even more reliable than non-TTL Cactus V5! 5 stars from guy who usually give very good products only 4 stars. 5 stars because it beat my initial expectation by miles, and continue not disappointing me every single time!

I really wanted to explore off camera flash so I read the book on canon flash by Syl Arena and bought a long cable from him. Short while after Canon came out with the 600ex-rt flash. I bought it and loved it. But in order to trigger it off camera I'd have to use a long cable. Even at home I found that inconvenient and was sometimes concerned that someone could trip on the cable. I could buy another 600ex-rt and maybe the st-e3. I thought I would further invest in wireless flashes. But then since I don't do photography for a living it's hard to justify hundreds of dollars for a flash when I could use the same money on lenses. Fortunately I came across this Yongnuo trigger. It's pretty easy to use. Fresh out of the box I was able to test shoot it already. Didn't really have to read the manual. Now I can finally enjoy off camera flash although looking back I didn't really need 600ex-rt. Perhaps 580ex II would have sufficed. Anyway, now with a couple of hundred of dollars I could invest in two Yongnuo flashes and four triggers. At least that's the plan in my mind. =)

Those YN622 for Canon are awesome!!! they work great in TTL as well as manual. I use them with a Classic 5D as well as a 1D mark II and 1D mark III. I read some reviews saying that they did not work with some Canon camera. My question is : did the owners of the camera bother to read the Yongnuo instruction manual that came with the 622????? There is a trick ( for 5d Classic and 1d M2) in case you don't know if they are set in TTL or Manual...press the Channel button for 3 seconds (Ch1 will blink) then try the flash...if it fires in full blast manual mode, then press the Channel button for 3 seconds again and it will then fire in TTL mode. (do the same if you want to switch from TTL to Manual) Anyways, those YN622 are the best that you can get for the price if you are looking for off-camera TTL. BUY THEM!!!

Purchase a set of 3 and then added 2 more. The option to control my flashes using the Canon Flash Control menu is a very nice feature. Only one important point ot remember. Do not have these units too close (right next to each other) because the transmitting unit on your camera will over power the receiving unit installed on your flash, causing erratic behaviour. Try to keep mine a minimum of 3 feet apart to prevent overdriving the receiving unit. Basic RF theory. Other than that, these devices are very reliable and a cost effective way of triggering/controlling your off camera flash.

I've been looking for a set of wireless flash triggers for my two Canon 5D MkIIs. I tried using several different brands, I bit the bullet and finally bought a set of Pocket Wizard Flex TT5s. The PW Flex TT5s didn't solve the problem. For some reason the flashes kept cycling, then set themselves off, then repeating the cycle when I turned them on. When I couldn't fix the problem, I sold the PWs TT5s and after a little research, I thought I'd give the Yongnuos a try. The Youngno YN622s worked like a charm, no more out of control runaway flashes. After finding out they worked very well, I ordered a second pair. (I even had money left over from the sale of the Pocket Wizards). I use two cameras, so I mount transmitters on each for my photo shoots, and have transmitter/receivers on both strobes. I've been using the Yongnuos for a couple of months and am very happy with them.

I finally got this yongnuo YN622 in 2 day. This is my wireless trigger that I bought. I had test them out and they work just very well right out of the box. Oh of course with battery insert. I test it with my 550ex and with my old old Canon 299T and they worked dam well. I just can't believe it trigger my old 299T Canon Flash that bought some 25 year ago. I'll put this on manual mode only. I had order one more set to get control of 3 flash lights. If you have some old flash like I do this would save you some money. My 299T have as much power as 600tex rt, just the range is shorter. And like most pro use in manual mode anyway. Well this is for newbee like me anyway. For the real pro level this is not the case. This is just the infor that it work with my old 299T. This YN622 I saw review somewhere said it work with any 3 pin hot shoe flash as well. I love these units a little big and bulky but light weight. For this kind of price I think this is far more advance compare to other brand. How reliable I don't know yet, time will tell. I highly recommend this to who want to play with off camera flash this is the way to start, and for pro people who don't care about the brand name otherwise you might check with PocketWizard.

Soooo.... my previous review said these were broken, but they aren't. FYI, though - Eneloop rechargeable batteries are NOT friends with these triggers. Broken! Just outside of 1-year warranty. These have been so very well kept, and now one will only light up when I "squeeze" it together, and the other just doesn't work at all. I cannot even look at my contacts as these are IMPOSSIBLE to disassemble. (There is a center screw located under the faceplate, which is super-super-glued on.) I now have a shoot that I need to purchase new triggers for, and I really don't want to buy the same version of these for another $80. Should have gone for the PocketWizards.

I have a Cannon 6d with 430 II EX flash. I tried the cheaper triggers from Yongnuo that don't allow high speed sync and was disappointed. These do exactly what they promise...allow you to control the flash from the camera. Every setting is available via the Canon menu. I thought I would be more annoyed using the Cannon menu and thought I would need an LCD screen, but I didn't actually mind using the Canon interface that much. As soon as you hit menu, you're about one click from entering the flash controls and for the most part, they are pretty strait forward. That being said, I wish I had opted for the the kit with the YN622C and the YN 622C-TX since that is the ideal way to control these and the cost is the same. I am not a serious photographer. Just a hobbyist who would like to learn more about off camera flash.

I received these yesterday. Popped batteries in and was using them within 10 minutes. Not complicated at all. I have NEVER used remotes and didn't even look in the manual once. I suppose I will if I get more flash units and another pair of transceivers but, for now, they do what they are supposed to do. Side note; people have said these feel flimsy. I don't think so. They feel really solid. I also didn't have any issues with my hotshoe and sliding this on. I also purchased a light stand and a bracket at the same time and the bracket has the ability to just slide the transceiver onto it. Easy. Looking forward to taking this set up "out into the field" to shoot with.

I'd been using the Cowboy Studios remotes for a while but they were extremely temperamental. After reading the reviews for the YN622 and seeing a professional using them at a recent event I decided to pick up a set. So far they are performing extremely well. No misfires. I placed one in another room to shoot my hallway and it fired fine. It's a great reasonably priced alternative to Pocket Wizards. I don't consider them cheap, just reasonably priced. It supports virtually (if not all) all of Canon's flash modes; including E-TTLII; 1st and 2nd Curtain sync as well as Hi-Speed sync; Flash Bracketing; Flash compensation, manual and multi flash; flash ratio....PC port triggering. In addition, since these are transceivers each until can trigger or be triggered. It's a complete product. Another pleasant surprise is the user manual. Having been subjected to poorly printed, sometimes unreadable manuals, I was thrilled to see a high quality user manual. In addition to being well written and complete, it's printed on glossy stock and it's in color! When they show pictures of what your cameras's LCD should show, that comes in really handy. Kudos to Yongnuo for showing that it is possible to provide a good manual. Unless you have a specific need for a PW, I recommend getting the YN622 and using the money you save toward getting an extra one or two.

I had bought a set of these to go along with my Yongnuo flashguns about a year ago. I liked em so much that I had to get more. The trigger signal is nice and strong. I had some cowboy studio ones that pissed me off so much - triggering was totally erratic, interference from any source wreaked havoc with the signal. So much time and shots wasted. I knew I had to get a replacement flash triggering system. These are transceivers btw, meaning that there isn't a specific unit for the flash or the camera hotshoe, totally interchangeable tasks. This also simplifies the logistics of things, so I wouldn't have to buy a specific tasked receiver/trigger just In case one fails. Channels and groups are super easy to setup using the analog(no menus) buttons. These triggers use 2 AA batteries, I use 2000mah eneloops with mine no hiccups in function. But be aware, these flash triggers are quite large. I'd totally recommend them for the beginner strobists out there!

easiest to use. no more one is a transceiver one is a receiver…..either works as one or the other. simple simple simple to set up and communicate with one another. and that is great for me because I have self assigned ADD when it comes to technical directions. Yongnuo … if you are listening….the connections from item to camera and then to flash are a hair loose. would like to see a better fit. and bear in mind that id trigger to yongnuo flash and to canon 5d. so fit should be perfect. But I digress…my take home on this would be if you are looking for a really easy to use trigger for of camera flash these are superb. and from what I have read they have great advanced features too.
