I have a Metabones I that I had to send back to Hong Kong for software update. BTW the Metabones service is excellent and their products mechanically flawless. The Commlite at 1/4 of the price obviously does not possess the same german like quality but I have been using it without any problem on my Sony A7s. There is no play. The whole thing is solid and it even does AF (very slowly though, and I ended up using MF). I don't have a A7Rii and have no idea how it will AF with the newer camera. It has a tripod socket you can take off if it does not clear your rig. For the price it's an excellent purchase IMO.

This adapter lets me use my Canon "Full Frame" EF lenses on my Sony A7 with auto focus. It might not be the fastest or most accurate auto focus but it is still pretty impressive. It gets it right most of the time. Disclaimer. I only use the center focusing point on my A7 camera. I can not speak as to how auto focus would work on any of the other focusing points.

Upon receiving it, it is WELL packaged, as if it is a premium item. The adapter is solid in construction, and adds a bit of weight (this can be good or bad for some people). So far, I've only been able to test it with a 28mm f1.8 USM prime lens an an A7 body. So far it works pretty well with AF. It's obviously not gonna be lightning fast like on a Canon body, but it's very manageable--comparable to a smartphone.

This is by far one of the cheapest adapter you can get for EF-NEX with autofocus capbility. Similar product like one from Metabone costs $400 at the time of review. Build quality: Build is solid. Not overwhelmingly so but very reasonable. It is mostly constructed out of metal with some plastic inserts for baffle. One issue noted by another reviewer here is that it uses a highly reflective plastic for inner components which could cause unwanted reflection. I plan to flock it with Edmund flocking paper. The tripod mount is held onto the barrel with a single thumb screw. I had no issue disengaging it from the barrel. Overall rating: B Compatibility: The list on the website has an extensive list of Cannon lens it works with. I only tested have a few Canon lenses with mixed results.

The Commite adapter is an affordable gem when it comes to mounting full-frame Canon lenses on Sony's Full-frame A7, A7r, and A7s cameras. It passes through electronics so that the camera can control aperture, shutter, focus - and stabilization also still works - at least with the lenses I tried (70-200mm F/2.8 IS and the 24-105mm F/4L IS). Autofocus while using this adapter will be slow, but that's the same with any of the Metabones adapters ($300-$400) as well. I have noticed a little bit of light leak that seems to be a common problem with these type of adapters, but there are quite a few very quick and almost free DIY solutions on the web to reduce or prevent it from happening.

I bought this adapter to hopefully be able to attach my Zeiss ZE manual focus lenses (Zeiss lenses with a Canon EF mount) to my Sony A7 camera. I'm happy to report the adapter works great. The adapter allows the Sony camera to electronically control the aperture of the Zeiss ZE lens. All other electronic functions work as well, which in this case means I can use the auto, P, A, S, M settings.

Great stuff! I had bought the $399 adpter from someone else and then happen to buy this adapter a week later (I bought a different Sony and this Commlite adapter came with that 2nd camera) . After testing both the $399 adapter and this adapter I see no differences, hence, I put the $399 adapter up for sale at $75 loss and then put in the order for this adapter (since at that point I have 2 Sony's and need one for each camera). The price now seems even cheaper than when I paid for this. Great buy, IMHO!

I went through two other much more expensive adapters that did not function at all with my FS700 and EF mount Sigma 18-35 before this one was recommended by a friend. Works great for aperture control which was my primary concern. Autofocus sort of works but does a good deal of searching. To be expected for any lens adaptation. Build quality feels solid. I like it. 1/6th the price of Metabones.

When I was first looking at purchasing this adapter I was a little hesitant as there was only one review and I wasn't sure how it was going to work with 3rd party lens. I have to say I am very pleased with this adapter for the price. I have tested it on the Tokina 16-28mm f2.8, Sigma 50mm f1.4, Canon 85mm f1.8, and the Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6. The focusing is a bit janky on all of them but aperture control works great with all of them, which is all I need seeing how I'm using my NEX 5r for video. My only complaint is the adapter isn't as snug as It could be but it doesn't affect the functionality. For the price you can't go wrong.

Mount worked flawlessly, and was very heavy duty surprisingly. I loved the removable tripod mount, it gave you the versatility of having a tripod mount without the bulk when not in use. Would buy again if needed, as I returned mine because I returned the lens I needed it for.
