    I have to admit that I wasn't expecting anything great for a price point of less than $150. At best, I figured I'd get a 7" monitor that would simply serve as a signal confidence unit and look good on top of my camera. I mean, the IKAN, Panasonic, and other professional HD field monitors MUST be better... Right? This thing was just a stop-gap measure until I could get one of the name brand units... As it turns out, I was quite (pleasantly) surprised by what I received. The monitor puts out a bright, clear picture. It is certainly a better monitoring option than the built-in LCD screen on my HPX-500. And with a little tweaking, I was able to reasonably match both color bars and a live shot between it and my Panasonic BT-LH2600 HD monitor. My camera only outputs HD-SDI. Fortunately, I use a BlackMagic Hyperdeck ShuttlePro 2 external recorder that converts the HD-SDI signal to HDMI. By looping out of the Hyperdeck Shuttle, I can use the monitor to view the signal coming out of my external recorder and also for playback of what has been recorded.

    Excellent screen with true native resolution of 1280x800 pixels. I used it with a Raspberry PI and it works wonderfully together. You simply need to change the resolution in /boot/configure.txt to force 1280x800 and prevent overscan (see videos on YouTube). Don't forget to order an external AC/DC 12V power supply or the proper battery pack. Also, if you intend to put it on a table, the simplest mini tripod will work just fine.

    I'm very happy with this monitor for FPV quadcopter use. It has (in the setup menus) an FPV mode which will prevent it from going to blue screen on very weak signal.the screen is a fingerprint magnet.
