I’ve had this flash for over a year and I haven’t had any problems and I use it a lot, even plenty of times at 1/1 . I use 3000mhA rechargeable batteries and they usually last up to 2 hrs at full power if I use it as a filling light outdoors, for conventional use indoors or portraits 3 to 4 hrs. If you’re new with flashes I recommend you to get this one because it is full manual meaning you’ll learn a lot about your camera and lighting there is a bit of learning curve but It’ll make you grow professionally, instead with a flash with TTL which will be like using your camera in AUTO mode.

To date, I have bought two of these flash units and have had ZERO issues with either one. In fact, the first one is now over a year old and has never given me any sort of issue. These are MANUAL flashes and not TTL capable! I see so many reviews on here for this flash where the purchaser gave them a low rating and bad review because of this. It's not the manufacturers or the flash unit itself that is responsible for not reading the listing completely and for the purchaser not doing their own research about the item they intend to purchase. They connect nicely and fire accurately when controlled by the camera and also while being controlled by the Yongnuo 560TX wireless controller. Both flashes adjust by 0.3 steps of power, and unless running at 1/4th power or higher, they tend to be pretty easy on the battery life of 4 decent rechargeable AA batteries. The flash head is "zoomable" from 24mm to 105mm both as a single unit and through the 560TX controller to help get the light where you need it. I haven't had an over heating issue with them yet, but I'm not running them at maximum power to do the job of a higher powered strobe either. These are just simple inexpensive flash units that do their job well. At nearly half the cost of some of the other products available on the market of this nature, I will gladly continue to use these after seeing my other flash last me over a year now under pretty decent amount of usage. In fact, it's probably due to be replaced pretty soon to insure the flash bulb matches the performance, color, and brightness of the flash I had just bought this last week on the current order through Amazon. To the Sony shooters out there that have models with the Sony MI hot shoe, both the Canon and Nikon version of this flash and the 560TX controller (also both available in Canon or Nikon) work perfectly fine with Sony cameras. I use them constantly on several of the Sony bodies such as the a3000, a6000, and the a68. No issues at all, make sure the flash is set to either M or Multi, set your camera to Fill Flash in Manual or Program mode. Be sure to attach the flash or controller to your camera body first, turn on the flash or controller and then turn on the camera. If you don't have the flash mounted and turned on before the camera is turned on it will cause the camera to not detect that it is attached.

Flashes are of higher quality than their price would indicate. Set up was relatively easy, although instructions are a little hard to follow. Youtube takes care of any operational questions you may have. Bought four units along with the Yougnuo TX560-TX Nikon Flash Transmitter which all worked flawlessly with no misfires. Just be aware these units are strictly manual, NO TTL. Very well packaged.

I am not a pro but I do know I need a flashlight for better photos of my products. I have been reading about Yongnuo flashlights for weeks, there are many really good comments from either professional photographers or beginners. I believed I could get one without worrying too much. And I was right. The flashlight works really well. It is very easy to use even to a newbie/ starter like me. Thanks for the detailed manual. It works amazing. My products’ photos turned out great. I got the brightness I wanted and I guess my photos are kind of looking like professional ones. So at the price below a 100 bucks, I got this high quality powerful flashlight, I am very happy. It saved me a lot for getting expensive brandy one.

Replaced a much more expensive flash. Works like a charm. Not afraid to hurt it, as I can afford to replace if necessary. Will buy more in the future.

Nice improvement from and addition too the 560 III's I have. These will work well, but I still want to upgrade to the high speed flashes as soon as I can.

this is a great flash to have, this was my first YN 560-IV, my previous flash was a YN-560 II so the upgrade from one to another was great, just bought another one and it works perfectly with my Nikon D5100.

Great flash! But now you need to add autofocus beam for nikon, please make this happen and you'll have me hooked. Yongnuo 560 V autofocus flash. I'd preorder.

I've had the 560III, and needed another. This is a better flash because it also acts as a master! I use this with either the 603 transceiver or the 560tx (transmitter)

I paired this with my Nikon SB-700. Te YN560lV mounted on a soft box and my SB-700 on an umbrella and wireless triggers and wow the Yongnuo is a powerful and inexpensive flash unit. I might buy another one. I hope this bulb will last long enough.

Nailed It! Every shot, every time. I got this in the hopes I could take my photography to the next level in time for Christmas. I set mine up as a flash fired slave upstairs at the Daughters home to bounce light across the living room ceiling. It worked tirelessly the whole evening and back lighted my every shot. I was so pleased with the results, and how it stood there on a light tripod support and worked for every shot.

I can't say enough good things about the YN560 flashes. I have been using them since the very first model came out. Now I have read many reviews about flashes either miss firing or just craping out. I would like to state I am a pro photographer and have used many different triggering systems and flashes and to me this is the best bang for the buck. Now keeping that in mind I do buy 4 new flashes every other year and keep 2 spares in my bag at all times. So far (knock on wood) I have not had a single one crap out and have had them on stands that have fallen and other things have broken but the flashes still go on!

Excellent fully manual flash. I've already shot four events with three of these off camera. All worked well and have happy customers. The only time I use my canon ettl is on-camera during an event. Get one and get the transmitter...you won't be disappointed.

This is a great flash! and an amazing price. I can't attest to it's capabilities compared to the similar canon since I haven't gotten to use the canon, but I definitely don't feel the need to try it! Works great, feels great.

I love experimenting with photography - makes me a better photographer. And with the price of this unit - looking at a second to play with. Great item, worth the price.

I have dropped this flash twice on hard floors. The flash continues to perform flawlessly. Yes, it eats batteries but that's why you buy massive quantities of them at Costco. I'll most likely buy another as I am a real estate photographer and need to light more than one room. Overall a good, solid unit.
